Gay Stars Do Final Tribute to American Horror Story: Asylum!

via glooce

After last month's season finale of American Horror Story: Asylum a mini cottage industry sprung up around the series, with a series of mishmash videos popping up (Google American Horror Story Harlem Shake for this week's trend), queer fan fiction (as if the series needed even more gaying), and endless fan memoriums and demanding tributes.

The show's creators even put out this final video in which the actors (including two of the gay stars, Sarah Paulson and Zachary Quinto) talk about life inside Briarcliff, the asylum around which the season revolved.

Watch for yourself with the video below, while you wait for the series to arrive on DVD and for the season three incarnation to return to the little screen (both of which are expected to happen this fall).

Matt Bomer Wasn’t Denied Superman’s Cape Because He’s Gay, Says Source

    via glooce

In a recent interview, vampy romance novelist Jackie Collins suggested that out White Collar star Matt Bomer was passed over for the lead role in Superman Returns because he was gay.

[Matt] had not come out of the closet but people in the know knew he was gay,” she said in a chat with Gaydar Radio. “His auditiontape went in and he called up the agent. Someone didn’t like him and told them he was gay. They said, “No, no, we can’t cast you.’”

But a Hollywood insider tells E! that’s just not so, saying Bomer was the choice of director Brett Ratner and when Ratner left the project a new actor was pitched.

“Matt was Brett’s Superman,” the source said. ”He would never have not cast Matt because he’s gay. Brett knew Matt was gay. They’re good friends. Matt not being Superman had nothing to do with his sexuality. It was because the director changed.”

Oddly, the director who did take over the film was Bryan Singer, who is both openly queer and one of Hollywood’s most bankable filmmakers. So if Bomer was ditched by Singer because he was gay, that’d be some really fucked-up internalized-homophobia jujitsu.

We’re not saying that kind of thing doesn’t happen—some claim it’s gay publicists, directors and execs keeping the Hollywood closet closed—but it would be a reach.

And let’s not forget Ratner got into hot water with the gays not long ago for saying rehearsals were for “faggots.” So who did care about Bomer’s sexuality and who didn’t? And would a Superman movie do big box office if its star was openly (or even rumored to be) gay?

Jessica Simpson's Dad Is Gay, 'Came Out Of The Closet' To Family

    via glooce

According to a bombshell new report, Jessica Simpson’s world was turned upside-down when her manager-dad Joe Simpson recently dropped a bomb on his unsuspecting family: An insider says he confessed he’s gay!

And not only has a family source told The National Enquirer that 54-year-old Joe came out of the closet, the source says the former youth pastor and Baptist minister has a 20-something boy toy!

The stunning confession was the real reason wife Tina filed for divorce from Joe, her husband of 34 years, in late September, the Enquirer reports.

“Joe got the family together about two months ago and came out of the closet,” an insider divulged. “He told them that he’d tried to continue in his marriage to Tina, but he couldn’t go on any longer and deny the fact that he had these feelings for men.

“Joe said it wasn’t fair to her, and it wasn’t fair to him.”

Tina, 52, filed for divorce in McLennan County, Texas, on Sept. 24. In the paperwork, she cites “discord or conflict of personalities” as grounds for the marital dissolution.

Meanwhile, Joe has been spiraling out of control for some time. He was busted for drunk driving in Sherman Oaks, Calif., on August 4. “The police report stated that there was someone else in the car with Joe,” said a source close to the Simpson family. “Some reports have stated it was Tina, but now the belief is that it may well have been a boyfriend.”

For more exclusive details on the Simpson family saga, including how this could affect Jessica’s billion dollar empire, pick up the latest issue of The National Enquirer on newsstands Thursday.

Newlywed Anne Hathaway will donate money from wedding photos to marriage equality campaign

    via glooce

In September, actress Anne Hathaway celebrated her wedding day with longtime partner Adam Shulman. The 29-year-old actress, who starred in this summer's blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises and who is featured in this winter's big-screen adaptation of Les Misérables, enjoyed a private wedding with family members and friends in Big Sur, California.

Now, Hathaway is doing her part to ensure that same-sex couples across the country can enjoy a fairytale wedding like hers; this week, she announced that she'll be donating some of the sales from her wedding photographs to non-profits advocating for marriage for same-sex couples, including Freedom to Marry. Reports also indicate that she'll be splitting the profits between groups like the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and The Girl Effect.

The donation from the sales of her wedding photos is the latest way that Hathaway has taken a stand for the freedom to marry. In 2008, she talked publicly for the first time about her brother, who is gay, and explained that their relationship has compelled her to advocate as an ally to the LGBT community. In 2008 she was awarded the Human Rights Campaign's Ally Award and gave a rousing speech about the importance of acceptance of LGBT people. She said, "I don't consider myself just an ally to the LGBT community, I consider myself your family. And so, I'm doing what we should all do with our families - I'm loving you, I support you, I completely accept you as you are, as I hope you do me, and if anyone ever tries to hurt you, I'm going to give them hell."

Most recently, Hathaway and Shulman have been serving as members of our National Honorary Host Committee for our National Engagement Party, which wrapped on Saturday, October 13 and raised a total of $500,000 for Freedom to Marry's Win More States Fund, 100% of which is strategically channeled into the four states - Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington - where marriage is on the ballot on Election Day.

We thank Hathaway adn Shulman for their support and appreciate their decision to take the opportunity of their nuptials to speak out about why marriage matters.

Obama Pride: LGBT Americans For Obama Video Stars Zachary Quinto, Wanda Sykes, Chaz Bono And More

      via glooce

Zachary Quinto, Wanda Sykes and Chaz Bono are just three of the many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) celebrities to endorse President Obama in this new video for the re-election campaign.

Not only does the clip highlight Obama's backing of same-sex marriage, but also his other LGBT-relevant achievements, including the 2011 repeal of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

"It's amazing how each generation just keeps pushing the ball forward,"
notes tennis champ Billie Jean King. "President Obama has pushed it forward faster than any time in the history of our community."

Adds Quinto: "Having the president of the United States declare his belief that gay couples should be allowed to marry and to use the word marry...[it ]was incredibly inspiring to watch that all unfold."

Paris Hilton Apologizes: 'Gays are Strong, Inspiring'

      Via Glooce

Paris Hilton has issued an apology for the comments she made about gay men ... saying, "Gay people are the strongest and most inspiring people I know."

Of course, Hilton's apology is in response to a secretly recorded piece of audio released earlier this week which caught the heiress saying such gems like, "Gay guys are the horniest people in the world. Most of them probably have AIDS."

Paris had already released a statement trying to explain herself ... but now, she's issued a full-on apology -- posted on GLAAD's website, no less -- saying, "I am so sorry and so upset that I caused pain to my gay friends, fans and their families with the comments heard this morning."

"I was having this private conversation with a friend of mine who is gay and our conversation was in no way towards the entire gay community. It is the last thing that I would ever want to do and I cannot put into words how much I wish I could take back every word."

She continued, "Gay people are the strongest and most inspiring people I know ... Again, I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart and I feel absolutely horrible. I hope that everyone can accept my apology and know that it is not who I am or how I feel in any way."

First Look: Days of Our Lives' Will and Sonny Share a Kiss — And This Time It's Official!!!

      Via Glooce

This isn't the first time Days of Our Lives buddies Will and Sonny have technically locked lips. Their first kiss, which aired last month on the NBC soap, was such a hot awkward mess it sent Will straight to bed with (gasp!) a girl.

But TV Guide Magazine now has the first look at the real deal. And it's going to change Days history.

The scene, airing Friday, features Will (Emmy winner Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith) in a smooch that will officially launch their long-delayed, star-crossed romance.

Warning: It may take a while for the boys to hit the sack. Check back during November sweeps!

Paris Hilton Dissed by Grindr, Which Implies She’s Dated Gay Men

      Via Glooce

Paris Hilton was the subject of massive backlash on Thursday when audio leaked of her referring to gay men as “disgusting” and saying most of them “probably have AIDS.”

Now, the hookup app Grindr, which Hilton and her gay male friend were discussing during their secretly taped conversation, has responded to her controversial remarks.

Grindr tweeted, “@parishilton, frankly we’re surprised that you hadn’t heard about Grindr sooner, given some of the guys you date,” along with a photo of Hilton and her ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt dressed as fairies at a costume party.

Note: Reinhardt is NOT known to be gay.

Singer Mika opens up about his sexuality in new interview

      via Glooce
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Ending years of speculation, Mika recently confirmed his homosexuality.

Firstly, by dedicating the song The Origin of Love during one of his concerts to "the man I love".

Then, he told Instinct magazine in an interview set to be published in their September issue: "If you ask me am I gay, I say yeah".

Now, in an interview with La Presse in Montreal, Quebec, he further explains the reason behind his decision to "come out":

Is it why it was important for you to reveal your homosexuality this week in the American magazine Instinct?

In the songs from my new album, I talk about my life, whereas before I used to talk more about the life of people around me. It was the right moment to reveal my homosexuality, because at 28 years old I thought: I talk about my life in a way very few male pop singers will do it. I do it with a lot of joy and it was the right moment. My songs are not necessarily about my sexual orientation, but still about my personal life. I like pop music because it's universal. We didn't necessarily need to know I'm homosexual to understand my music. Above all it shows some comfort and confidence. I created all that is my career on my own. I don't hide anything. I arrived at a moment in my life when I'm confident and at ease in every way in my life. It gives me a completely invicible feeling of power and joy. It was important for me to do it in a good way and to choose to do it when I wanted to.

Will you give us a taste of your new album in St Jean sur Richelieu?

I will sing new songs like Celebrate, Underwater and Make You Happy as well as 2 new French songs. It's a pleasure to perform in a place where people understand and have the same connection with the lyrics, either in French or in English. There is nowhere else in the world except here where I can do that! What I like about performing at the International des Montgolfières is that it's not part of a North American tour, and when I'm in Quebec, I feel like I'm in a world apart. I should have come in 2007 but I had big health problems that prevented me from going on stage. I'm delighted to finally have the opportunity to come!

Why did you choose to have 4 titles in French on your new album?

I grew up in Paris and my musical education was made through French songs with Gainsbourg, Françoise Hardy, Barbara, Moustaki, Rita Mitsouko etc. I'm not scared of melody and there is plenty in French music. It's part of my education and I wanted to sing in French for years, but I knew I couldn't write myself, because in my mind I think in English. So I had to wait until I met Doriand, a lyricist who interprets my ideas and writes my lyrics. On my new album in French there are EMD, L'Amour dans le mauvais temps, Karen (82 Rue des Martyrs) that I will make in a version that nobody has ever heard, and Un soleil mal luné.

What 'colour' does this new album have?

I finished the album on Wednesday night. When you listen to it, you have a feeling that it's dunked in a kind of mix between classical music, pop melodies from the 70s and a quite modern, electronic side which mixes these worlds. I will be 29 next Saturday and this album totally represents me today. And some versions of songs like MYH that is already out there are different on the album as I have it in a symphonic version with a lot of strings. In my first album, I was 22 and I talked about life, my friends, my family. With the second one I isolated myself much more. The new album is another universe, but I've never done something that represents me that much.

It was important for me to do it in a good way and to choose to do it when I wanted to.

Why did you choose to work with Pharrell Williams on Celebrate?

On The Origin of Love, I wanted to come out of this isolation I was in with my second album and work with artists with whom I have some sort of exchange. They work on my album and I work on theirs, while normally in pop music, we pay someone to have a song and a name. With Pharrell, it's different: we sit together and see if we can get something, without any contract, without money or rules. On Celebrate, there are also a 23 year old guy I met on the Internet and Nick Littlemore from Empire of the Sun who collaborated.

Anderson Cooper's Boyfriend Ben Maisani Caught Cheating on the News Anchor?

        via glooce

Anderson Cooper and his boyfriend of three years, bar owner Ben Maisani, were so in love that Anderson's mother Gloria Vanderbilt was reportedly urging the cute couple to get married and adopt a child. However, Anderson might now be the Robert Pattinson of the news industry—it looks like Ben has been cheating on him with another man.

The Daily Mail has posted photos of Ben kissing a muscular, dark-haired man while the two sit on the ground in a New York park. The two men are holding hands and look rather smitten with one another.

Anderson and Ben have always been a very private couple, so it's possible that they quietly broke up. Obviously this would mean that Ben Maisani wasn't actually cheating on Anderson Cooper and has simply moved on (albeit very quickly).

But if the photos do show Ben having an affair, Anderson will probably be devastated. He finally mustered up the courage to tell the public that he's gay just a few short weeks ago, which meant that he and his boyfriend no longer had to be so sneaky when spending time together. But unfortunately it seems like Ben is the type who enjoys a secretive romance—he just found a different reason to sneak around.
