The ubiquitous Jennifer Lawrence is on everyone's BFF wish-list nowadays, but turns out that wasn't always the case. The 22-year-old actress revealed to The Sun that she was bullied throughout her childhood, something that built her character and made her who she is today.

"I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean," Lawrence told The Sun. "They were less mean in middle school, because I was doing all right, although this one girl gave me invitations to hand out to her birthday party that I wasn't invited to."

But a Jennifer Lawrence story wouldn't be complete without a Jennifer Lawrence twist: "I just hocked a loogie on them and threw them in the trash can," she added. "Don't worry about the bitches. That could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life."

Lawrence also opened up about her new, slightly more grown-up status. "As for being a sex symbol, I don't think of myself as sexy and, obviously, it's not true," she said. "I'm going to try to push that out of my mind because it makes me queasy."

And if she is perceived as such, you can't chalk it up to trying. "The other day I had pizza for breakfast, buffalo wings for lunch and pizza for dinner," she told The Sun. "Probably my favourite food is a potato -- just a potato, because I like fries, boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes."

Emma Stone to star in Birdman with Naomi Watts, Michael Keaton and Zach Galifianakis

Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, and Zach Galifianakis, will star in Birdman, Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu’s latest project that is being made by Fox Searchlight and New Regency.

As opposed to his usual soul-searing dramas, Birdman is a dark comedy piece follows a former actor, who once played an iconic superhero, as he mounts a Broadway play based on a Raymond Chandler short story in a bid to reclaim past glory. However, the play’s egotistical leading man threatens to throw everything down the tubes.

Keaton, who ironically played Batman in the early 1990s Tim Burton movies, is the comic book movie star trying to regain his credibility. Stone will play Keaton’s daughter, fresh from rehab and now his assistant. Watts will be an actress in the play while Galifianakis will play the production's conniving producer. The other main parts to be cast include the play’s leading man and the ex-wife.

Innaritu co-wrote the script with Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris and Armando Bo. Inarritu is producing with Robert Graf and John Lesher.

An early April production start is being eyed.

Stone is currently shooting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and is attached to star in Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak while Watts, who worked with Innaritu on 2003's 21 Grams, is coming off an Oscar nomination for her performance in Summit’s The Impossible.

Galifianakis next reprises his breakout role as Wolf Pack member Alan in The Hangover III while Keaton recently wrapped shooting a turn in MGM’s remake of Robocop.

Stone is repped by WME, Anonymous Content, and Ziffren Brittenham while Watts is repped by CAA, Untitled and Hanson Jacobson.

Galifianakis is repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Morris Yorn. Keaton is repped by ICM and Ziffren Brittenham.

No one, that is, except Kanye West. He pursued his vision until it became a reality – placing several beats on Jay-Z's 2001 LP The Blueprint, then stepping into the spotlight with his brilliant debut, 2004's The College Dropout. In that time, she brought her Madonna-inspired dance songs from downtown Manhattan's cramped Bitter End to a multiple-night stand at Madison Square Garden. Even if Beyonce Knowles had never done anything beyond the string of hits she recorded with Destiny's Child in the late 1990s and early 2000s, we'd still remember her as the leader of one of the greatest girl groups of all time – for "No, No, No," for "Bills, Bills, Bills," for "Say My Name" and "Independent Women" and of course for "Bootylicious." But that was just the beginning. As a solo artist, Beyoncé has soared to new heights of inspiration. Her many smash singles, from "Crazy in Love" to "Irreplaceable" to "Single Ladies," make up one of the past decade's strongest pop portfolios. More than that, though, Beyoncé herself has become an icon to countless fans – a high priestess of empowerment and unflappable attitude.

 

RIHANNA

Going by numbers alone, Rihanna is already written into the history books in bold ink. Her digital sales add up to 100 million – more than anyone, anywhere, ever. Her catalog of hits includes a dozen Number One smashes, from 2006's "SOS" to 2012's "Diamonds" – the same number as Madonna and the Supremes, and more than anyone else except the Beatles, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson. But Rihanna's appeal transcends statistics. She's a star in the truest sense: a wild, larger-than-life personality you just can't look away from. Tabloid wildfires may rage all around her, but she shines bright through it all.


THE WHITE STRIPES

"The joke was always, 'We'll take Detroit garage rock to the world," Jack White told Rolling Stone in 2002. Mission accomplished. The White Stripes' combination of raucous punk and Delta blues resonated with MTV and rock radio, and their 2003 single "Seven Nation Army" has become a worldwide soccer stadium anthem. Born on the Detroit club scene in 1997, the band hit big in the early 2000s with a fully realized aesthetic: childlike lyrics, a peppermint color scheme, an obsession with the number three and supposed family ties (White introducing drummer Meg onstage as his "big sister," when they were actually exes). But they truly thrived during their intense live gigs, where White tore up his cheapo Airline guitar and pogoed across the stage as Meg thrashed like a cavewoman. "There is something about the way I attack things and the way she attacks things," White told Rolling Stone in 2005. "When you put those dynamics together, something interesting happens." The Stripes officially called it quits in 2011 after a few years of inactivity, but White has blazed forward on his own – most recently with his excellent solo debut, 2012's Blunderbuss.

THE ROOTS

The Roots may not have technically been the first live band in hip-hop – shout-out to Stetsasonic – but hands down, they're the greatest. Drummer Ahmir Thompson (a.k.a. Questlove) and rapper Tariq Trotter (a.k.a. Black Thought) connected in the late 1980s, when they were classmates at a performing-arts high school in Philadelphia. From 1993 on, they recorded a string of acclaimed LPs with an expanded line-up that took the jazzy style of predecessors like A Tribe Called Quest in revolutionary new directions – stirring in funk, soul, psychedelia and art-rock influences as the years flew by. In 2009, after nearly 15 years of tireless touring, the Roots accepted a gig as the house band on Jimmy Fallon's new late-night show. This could have heralded a comfortable retirement – but instead they've somehow become even more prolific, releasing some of their most fearless music to date and jamming on national television with everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Prince.



THE STROKES


The Strokes burst onto the scene in 2001 with an effortlessly distinct sound: Julian Casablancas' audible distant scowl, Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr.'s clashing double-guitar attack and an air-tight rhythm section. The band's first two albums, 2001's Is This It and 2003's Room on Fire, wrapped the youthful decadence and dive-bar realism of lower Manhattan life into contagious hooks recalling the Velvet Underground. The combination was monumental enough to open doors for a generation of rock & roll bands – including Kings of Leon, the Black Keys and many more. "Why does everything that has to be big and popular suck?" Julian Casablancas asked Rolling Stone in 2003. "We're trying to change that."


GREEN DAY

Green Day rose out of the San Francisco punk rock scene of the late 1980s, but from the very beginning they had global ambitions. Despite the inevitable cries of "sell-out," the three-piece band signed to a major label in 1994 and released Dookie. Within months, every high school kid in America was blasting "Longview," "Basket Case" and "Welcome to Paradise" in their bedrooms, and the band was stealing the show at Woodstock 1994. They continued to release hit records over the next decade (including the ballad "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," but in 2004, they wowed the critics with their anti-Bush rock operaAmerican Idiot. Just as they were about to be written off as has-beens, an entirely new generation of teenagers became obsessed with the group and the album became a landmark release. Nearly a decade later, they remain one of the biggest bands on the planet.

GIrls Star Lena Dunham is standing up against Racism

Lena Dunham is urging her fellow "Obies" to stick together as her alma mater in Ohio wrestles with reports of racism. The creator and star of HBO's "Girls" wrote on her Twitter account Monday after learning about racist graffiti at famously liberal Oberlin College.

The school about 30 miles from Cleveland was among the first to admit blacks. And the city of Oberlin was a stop on the Underground Railroad that aided escaped slaves. Dunham tweeted: "Hey Obies, remember the beautiful, inclusive and downright revolutionary history of the place you call home. Protect each other."

Racist and anti-Semitic messages have been found on campus, and classes were cancelled Monday after a report of someone wearing a Klan-type hooded robe.

Jennifer Lawrence reportedly ignored advances from Leonardo DiCaprio recently as she “only had eyes” for Bradley Cooper.

Jennifer and Bradley appeared alongside each other in Silver Linings Playbook and their portrayal of a couple who are falling in love has caused speculation romance also blossomed off screen. Although they have both denied they are dating, their behaviour at the Oscars last month – where Jennifer was named best actress - set tongues wagging again.

“They keep saying they’re like brother and sister, but anyone who meets them can see that their chemistry is off the charts. Leo DiCaprio was clearly hitting on her, but she only had eyes for Bradley,” an insider told Heat magazine.

The pair also attended a pre-Oscars party together, where they appeared just as friendly. They spent so much time with each other at the event other guests presumed they were an item.

“They were deep in conversation and talking about how they wanted to take a break after the awards season. Everyone at the party was talking about their chemistry; they really looked like they were together, but trying their best to hide it,” the source added.

Bradley, 38, has previously insisted that he is too old to date 22-year-old Jennifer. She has also insisted they don’t see each other romantically, claiming their chemistry is so good on screen as they have none in everyday life. Their behaviour has led many to believe they aren’t being truthful though.

“When they’re at a party together, Brad constantly swoops around the room to check on Jen – it’s like he can’t stay away,” the source mused.

Lucien Laviscount tapped to play as Aspen in CW's 'Selection'

The CW has cast a new Aspen in The Selection.

Lucien Laviscount has been tapped to play the America's new leading man in the network's rebooted pilot The Selection, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. 

Set 300 years in the future, the drama is an epic romance centering on a young working-class woman named America Singer (Israeli actress Yael Grobglas) chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other women for the Royal Prince Maxon's (newcomer Michael Malarkey) hand to become the nation's next queen. Balancing her loyalty to family, true love and the kingdom, she must attempt to remain true to herself as she navigates the cutthroat competition and palace intrigue, all while a budding rebellion threatens to topple the crown. It's based on the book by Kiera Cass.

Laviscount will play Aspen Leger, a handsome and brave man from the servant class who is having a secret and illegal relationship with America (Grobglas). He takes over the role played by William Moseley in the first incarnation of the pilot. Sean Patrick Thomas and Peta Sergeant will reprise their roles in the retooled Selection pilot, which will also feature Celia Massingham. The Vampire Diaries' Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain will pen and executive produce the Warner Bros. Television pilot, which will film in Budapest; Alex Graves will direct. Best known for his role as Jonah Kirby on the BBC One drama Waterloo Road, Laviscount is an actor-singer who recently released his debut single "Dance With You." His credits include Channel 5's Celebrity Big Brother 2011, where he finished fifth; Coronation Street, Grange Hill and Skins. Selection marks his U.S. television debut. He's repped by Waring and McKenna and Industry Entertainment.

There is still nine months until the release of Catching Fire, but there is some good news for the fashion forward fans of the Suzanne Collins book series.

Lionsgate, the studio behind the highly anticipated sequel to 2012’s The Hunger Games, has launched a Tumblr blog, Capitol Couture, which will enable fans to more intimately interact with the vibrant world of Panem.

Capitol Couture is dedicated to the eccentric fashions of Capitol City and allows fans to post their own Hunger Games inspired clothing, shoes, hairstyles and nail art.

The site provided the first look at Effie Trinket’s (Elizabeth Banks) official Capitol Portrait on Monday, featuring the notorious fashionista decked out in head to toe ruffled chiffon, wearing heelless boots.

Catching Fire will follow Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Huctherson) as they visit the 12 Districts on their Victor’s Tour, and are forced into the Hunger Games for a second time.

The film also stars Liam Hemsworth, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Clafin and Jena Malone.
The Hunger Game: Catching Fire has a theatrical release date of November 22.

Rachel Weisz on her Broadway Debut: 'It's Confirmed'

Rumors have been swirling that Oscar winner Rachel Weisz could make her Broadway debut alongside her Bond star husband Daniel Craig in a Broadway production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. During a recent appearance on the U.K. morning show Daybreak, Weisz spilled the beans!

“I am going to do a play on Broadway,” Weisz told host Aled Jones. “It’s confirmed. I’ve never done Broadway [so I’m] very excited. [Broadway has] this mythical shine about it.” Although Weisz didn’t confirm that the play she’d be starring in would indeed be Betrayal, it’s safe to say a revival of Pinter’s acclaimed 1978 play is the project she’s alluding to. No word yet on if Craig is definitely attached to the project as well.As previously speculated, Mike Nichols (Death of a Salesman) is in talks to direct.

Telling a story in reverse chronology, Betrayal follows Robert (presumably Craig), whose wife, Emma (presumably Weisz), is having an affair with his friend Jerry, a literary agent.

Weisz starred in the West End production of A Streetcar Named Desire. She earned the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Tessa Quayle in The Constant Gardener. Additionally, Weisz’s film credits include The Lovely Bones, The Fountain, Constantine, About a Boy, The Bourne Legacy and The Mummy.

Craig appeared on Broadway in A Steady Rain. Best known as James Bond in Skyfall, Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale, his additional film credits include Defiance, The Golden Compass, The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo, Munich, Layer Cake and Road to Perdition.

Johnny Depp serenades fans in small Washington State town

Talk about a big Hollywood treat for a small Washington state town!

Johnny Depp is currently filming the upcoming flick Lucky Them in the Seattle area, and he surprised small-town fans when he serenaded locals in the town of Carnation while taking a break from work.

The 49-year-old actor apparently had no qualms about interacting with his starstruck locals, looking relaxed and content as he played guitar and posed for pics.

Local reports suggest Depp was filming at a small lodge near the town, located in the Snoqualmie Valley and boasting a population of fewer than 2,000, when he decided upon the impromptu performance.

And from the looks of his smiling fans, he certainly made their day!
