Anne Hathaway on Winning An Oscar: Whatever Happens, Happens

She's won big at the Golden Globes and now the BAFTAs, but will Anne Hathaway take home an Oscar? 

Hathaway – who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Misérables – isn't spending too much time worrying about it.

"Whatever happens in two weeks, happens. It won't be the worst thing that happens to me if I don't win, and with my husband by my side it won't be the best thing either. So I am feeling very good about whatever," the actress, 30, told reporters backstage after nabbing a best supporting actress statue at Sunday's British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards in London.

"I really have to say that getting to do the work, getting to play the character with this cast and to have this opportunity, it is the most sublime experience. I don't know how I got so lucky. ... So I don't think ahead – I am just happy to be in the conversation in two weeks' time," she said. 

But should she win, Hathaway has been imagining where to keep her statue. 

"I kind of have this fantasy – because this year that I have been lucky enough to receive a few pieces of hardware – that I'm going to get a tool shed and keep it in my garage so that it opens to some music. But for now I am just going to keep it in my kitchen," she said.

While she's earned awards and received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Fantine, she says the best thing to come of filming the musical epic was meeting costar Russell Crowe. 

"The biggest surprise of the whole experience was what a sweetie pie Russell Crowe was. The whole cast would kind of gather around his place and we would just sing for hours. We all bonded that way. He has become a dear, dear friend," she said, "and I feel very blessed to have him in our life."

Anne Hathaway To Star In Film Adaption Of Shakespeare's 'Taming Of The Shrew'

Anne Hathaway will star in an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew,” an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

Abi Morgan, who scripted “The Iron Lady” and “Shame,” will handle the adaptation, a modern-day retelling of the iconic play set in mid-20th century Italy.

The project will be produced by Debra Hayward and Working Title, reuniting with the company behing "Les Miserables," another individual with knowledge of the film told TheWrap.

Hayward, a former Working Title executive, left the company in June of 2011 to start her own production company, Monumental Pictures. She promptly signed a first-look deal with Working TItle, and "Shrew" will be the first film made under that agreement.

Universal and Working Title, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner's British production outfit responsible for “Fargo” and “Billy Elliot,” have a longstanding production relationship dating to 1999. Their current first-look deal runs through 2015, meaning Universal would get first crack at distributing the film.

The two companies have collaborated on such films as “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” “Atonement” and 2012’s “Les Miserables.” Hathaway won a Golden Globe on Sunday for her performance as Fantine in that film, and she is considered the frontrunner for a Supporting Actress Oscar as well.

Hollywood and Broadway have adapted “The Taming of the Shrew” on several occasions, including Cole Porter’s musical “Kiss Me, Kate,” which originally appeared on Broadway in 1951 and was revived in 1952 and 1999, and a 1967 film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles starred in a modern reimagining of the tale in 1999, Gil Junger’s “10 Things I Hate About You.”

Universal, Working Title and Hathaway's representatives at CAA all declined to comment on the project.

Hathway, who last year appeared in both "Les Miserables" and "The Dark Knight Rises," has no projects currently in production. She will lend her voice to "Rio 2," the sequel to Fox's successful animated hit, which is in pre-production.

Giuliana Rancic got the Golden Globes red carpet abuzz with baby talk after speculating Anne Hathaway might be expecting her first child with new husband Adam Shulman.

But the 30-year-old, who went on to win the best supporting actress award for her role ins Les Miserables, was quick to nix the rumours.

'She's not pregnant,' her spokesperson Stephen Huvane told MailOnline.

Hathaway certainly showed no hint of a bump as she arrived at the ceremony in a white skirt and corset.

Rancic twice speculated about newlywed Hathaway on E!'s Countdown to the Red Carpet on Sunday.

Looks like Anne Hathaway will take her weight from one extreme to another this year. On the slight chance that you’re Rip Van Winkles and you just awoke from a 100-year nap, let me be the first to tell you that Anne Hathaway lost clinically unhealthy amounts of weight for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables. That story dominated the headlines for approximately 25 weeks, one week for every pound she lost by starving herself.

And now, it appears she’ll be gaining weight for her new role as a mother. Not in a movie, but in real life! According to Star, she not only wants a baby, but she’s already pregnant. with one. Which works out beautifully, because it would be horrid if she went around being all like, “I hate babies and I never want one! Oh, also I’m pregnant and I’m registered at Babies R Us.”

A pal of The Devil Wears Prada star told Star the brunette beauty has been dropping “subtle hints that she may already be pregnant.

“She’s been avoiding alcohol, talking about nursery colors and decorations and inquiring to close friends who recently gave birth about the best pediatricians,” the pal said. ”She and Adam are definitely giving off the pregnant bliss vibe, leading loved ones to believe they might have a little one next summer!”

If we’ve learned anything from The Kate Middleton Pregnancy Rumor Mill of 2012, it’s that everything’s a sign of pregnancy. Especially the classic pregnant bliss vibe. If you’re shaking your head in confusion about this vibe, then you’ve clearly never seen a pregnant woman before. While I can’t pretend it’s possible to sum up the vibe with mere words, I’ll try. It’s that thing when a woman rides around the countryside on the back of a magical stork while saying things like “sonogram! diapers! wet nurse!” You’d know it, if you saw it.

Her pal goes on to also add that she’s excited thinking about ”how great a father Adam will be. He can’t wait until their baby is born.”

Like I said before, this is marvelous, marvelous, marvelous! There’s nothing more dreadful when an anonymous pal tells the media that a prospective father’s not excited for the birth of his child.

While this pregnancy’s still in early rumor stages, we expect it to be in full-blown face-bloat speculation mode by the time the new year rolls around.

Congrats Anne! Once you hit baby bump watch, you’ve really made it in this town.

Here's our take on the best supporting actress category, which is not divided into subcategories like the lead acting races. So basically, it's similar to the Oscar race. Though something tells me Maggie Smith and Judi Dench -- far from sure things in the Oscar race for "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" and "Skyfall" -- both sneak in here to become double nominees (they are both predicted in the comedy/musical actress category as well).  Though watch out for Nicole Kidman in "The Paperboy" as a potential surprise. The Globes love Nicole Kidman.

Either way, though, Anne Hathaway has basically already won this award...

Anne Hathaway says she looks like her gay brother

With its theatrical release still 30 days away, Tom Hooper's Les Misérables is already being touted as an Oscar contender for Best Picture. 

The movie musical screened for the first time on Friday afternoon at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York, where The Hollywood Reporter was on hand to report on general reactions. 

Although Anne Hathaway's role as Fantine in the film is brief, she makes an "indelible impression" especially during "I Dreamed a Dream," THR writes. 

Hathaway – who told attendees she spent four months working with a vocal coach before the cast assembled for nine weeks of rehearsal – was willing to cut her hair short for the role, even though it meant she'd "be almost bald" for her September nuptials toAdam Shulman. 

"When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother," she said at the screening. 

Hathaway has not been shy in divulging how she transformed into Fantine. She recently spoke candidly to Vogue about her extreme dieting to prepare for the role. 

The Academy Award-nominated actress, 30, began the process with a strict cleanse, resulting in a 10-lb. weight loss. Then, she lived off two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste a day for two weeks, causing her to lose 15 more lbs. 

"I had to be obsessive about it," she said in the magazine's December issue. "The idea was to look near death. Looking back on the whole experience – and I don't judge it in any way – it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that's who Fantine is anyway."

Newlywed Anne Hathaway will donate money from wedding photos to marriage equality campaign

In September, actress Anne Hathaway celebrated her wedding day with longtime partner Adam Shulman. The 29-year-old actress, who starred in this summer's blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises and who is featured in this winter's big-screen adaptation of Les Misérables, enjoyed a private wedding with family members and friends in Big Sur, California.

Now, Hathaway is doing her part to ensure that same-sex couples across the country can enjoy a fairytale wedding like hers; this week, she announced that she'll be donating some of the sales from her wedding photographs to non-profits advocating for marriage for same-sex couples, including Freedom to Marry. Reports also indicate that she'll be splitting the profits between groups like the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and The Girl Effect. 

The donation from the sales of her wedding photos is the latest way that Hathaway has taken a stand for the freedom to marry. In 2008, she talked publicly for the first time about her brother, who is gay, and explained that their relationship has compelled her to advocate as an ally to the LGBT community. In 2008 she was awarded the Human Rights Campaign's Ally Award and gave a rousing speech about the importance of acceptance of LGBT people. She said, "I don't consider myself just an ally to the LGBT community, I consider myself your family. And so, I'm doing what we should all do with our families - I'm loving you, I support you, I completely accept you as you are, as I hope you do me, and if anyone ever tries to hurt you, I'm going to give them hell."

Most recently, Hathaway and Shulman have been serving as members of our National Honorary Host Committee for our National Engagement Party, which wrapped on Saturday, October 13 and raised a total of $500,000 for Freedom to Marry's Win More States Fund, 100% of which is strategically channeled into the four states - Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington - where marriage is on the ballot on Election Day. 

We thank Hathaway adn Shulman for their support and appreciate their decision to take the opportunity of their nuptials to speak out about why marriage matters.
