Gwyneth Paltrow is acting as a life coach to her close friend Cameron Diaz and has advised her to not get distracted by men and focus on herself this year.

The 'Iron Man' actress is helping her friend - who turned 40 last August - make some major decisions and has advised her to give up men because Cameron's romantic liaisons ''distract'' her.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Gwyneth's sorted out everything from finances to hooking her up with her trainer. She has also forced her to swear off sex for a year, saying men distract her focus.''

The two friends have been spotted out together regularly in the past year - after having became close after the death of Gwyneth's TV producer father Bruce Paltrow in October 2002 - and Gwyneth, 40, previously hoped to find the perfect man for her bubbly pal.

A source explained: ''Gwyneth is a nurturer. Cameron is bummed about being single, so Gwyneth sees her as a project. She's trying to set her up with guys!''

The fun friends also gatecrashed a wedding show last year at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel in Windsor, Southern England, while the blonde beauty was visiting the UK to promote her film 'The Counselor'.

Cameron Diaz makes the case for why some women “want to be objectified” in an eyebrow-raising, yet candid interview with the Sunday Times.

“I think every woman does want to be objectified. There’s a little part of you at all times that hopes to be somewhat objectified, and I think it’s healthy,” the actress tells the paper.

Diaz notes that she personally finds scantily-clad photo shoots to be “empowering.”

She says, “I’m not some young girl with the photographer going, ‘Will you take your clothes off?’ I’m like [mimes stripping], ‘How does this look?’”

“They’re like, ‘Today we’re not going to put anything other than bras and heels on you,’” Diaz continues, “and I’m like, ‘These heels are not high enough.’”

“I’m a woman, I know how to handle myself,” the What to Expect When You’re Expecting star adds.

Diaz explains, “I know what I feel comfortable doing and I know my sexuality."

Cameron Diaz: 'Taking drugs just wasn't interesting for me'

Cameron Diaz has claimed that she never went off the rails because wild partying and drug taking never seemed "interesting" to her.

The 40-year-old actress explained that although she has been tempted to engage in the excesses of Hollywood, she has always restrained herself.

She told the new issue of Esquire: "It just wasn't interesting for me. There's more I want out of life.

"Not to say I didn't go through my phases, but any time I was in danger of any of that, I was like, 'Come on Cameron, that's not who you are'. There's so much to gain by not doing that stuff."

Elsewhere, Diaz, who earns a reported $20 million per movie, added that she still cleans her own toilet.

She said: "I think your foundation is your foundation. I work as hard as it takes. That's the essence of who I am.

"So for me, I'm not thinking, 'Hmm, what is it like to do that?' I already know.

"And I'll jump into it at any time. I can scrub my own toilet. And I can scrub it against the best scrubbers of toilets. We can do a scrub-off!"

Cameron Diaz movie 'Bad Teacher' being adapted by CBS

CBS is adapting the 2011 Cameron Diaz comedy "Bad Teacher" for TV, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

The comedy will be written for the network by Hilary Winston, whose credits include "My Name Is Earl," "Happy Endings" and "Community." Winston will also executive-produce.

Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, who wrote the film, will also executive-produce.

The film, which raised eyebrows with its raunchiness, starred Cameron Diaz as a hard-drinking, pot-smoking middle-school teacher skating by on the job while waiting to marry her rich fiance, until she's dumped after her fiance realizes that she just wants his cash. Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel also starred.

The project comes from Sony Pictures Television and the Mosaic Media Group.

News of the "Bad Teacher" adaptation comes a day after the network put in a pilot order for a very different type of project -- the drama "Anatomy of Violence," from "Homeland" creators Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, will center on a female FBI agent who starts working with a mysterious psychiatrist with whom she shares a past connection.
